Southern African Multidisciplinary ADHD Congress
4-7 September
Virtual

https://adhdcongress.co.za/

In low- and middle-income countries, around 17% of children and adolescents experience mental health challenges, with half of all mental health disorders emerging before age 14. Surprisingly, only 1% of psychiatric services cater to child and adolescent mental health needs. International studies suggest that ADHD affects 5% of school-aged children, with 65% of cases persisting into adulthood. Barriers like lack of awareness, strained healthcare services, and the stigma surrounding mental health make it challenging to identify and address ADHD and comorbid disorders early. The 4th Southern Africa Multidisciplinary ADHD Congress, supported by the University of Stellenbosch Business School and state-of-the-art IT infrastructure, offers a dynamic virtual event. More than 300 delegates from twelve countries participated in the 3rd congress last year. Register now to receive login details and join this year's engaging event. Your participation can contribute to raising awareness and finding solutions for child and adolescent mental health challenges in the region.
